Clean Water Project
Our special mission project for 2011 is our clean water project, Lifestraws for Haiti. Proceeds from various fund raising projects will be used to buy Lifestraws for Haiti or other countries with a lack of clean drinking water. The Lifestraw is a personal water filter, used like a straw, which filters out disease causing microbes. Lifestraws can be used to drink water directly out of a pond, bucket, or any body of water. The filter removes bacteria which cause diarrhea and other diseases. Prayer Shawl Ministry
A prayer shawl is a shawl, scarf, or blanket which is knitted or crocheted by a member of the prayer shawl team for someone in need of prayer. We pray over the shawl while we make it, and the pastor and church members bless its owner. A gift of a prayer shawl wraps you in blessings and prayers, and those who have received them feel the power of prayer in their lives. If you know someone in need of prayer who may benefit from this meaningful gift, contact Pastor Ed, Pastor Terry or Vi Sloan.Music Ministry
Park Church members appreciate good music, and are exposed to a variety of music styles during worship. We have many talented members who share their music skills to enhance our Sunday worship. We have an active choir, and a jazz combo which plays regularly during worship. We welcome the participation of anyone who loves music. If you sing or play a musical instrument, we would love to have you join us for special music selections.Feed Your Neighbor
![]() | Park Church is an ongoing supporter of Feed Your Neighbor, sponsored by the Toledo Area Ministries. When grocery shopping, we suggest you select an extra item or two to donate. Donations are collected in the FYN basket in the narthex just outside the sanctuary and in a container in the lobby just off the parking lot. The food bank is located at the Providence Center (aka the Providence center for Social and Economic Empowerment ) at 1949 Broadway. We continue to support this vital community mission through our gifts of food and money. We also participate with other south end churches in the Beverly Cluster Food Drive each October. Our FYN mission representative and volunteer Shirley Branyan delivers our food donations on a bi-weekly basis as well as participates in the distribution to those in need. We are grateful to Shirley for her continued interest and support of this important community service. |
